Being Creative

Hello! and Welcome to another interesting Gosti!

This Gosti session on 'Being Creative', is a bit different than our typical chat sessions. In here, we discuss 2 creative exercises in Episodes 13 and 14. Everyone around seems to be talking about Creativity , Thinking Outside the Box', so in this session of Gosti we too tried to look at Creativity from the perspective of an organization that is into product development .

The first exercise that we discuss ( Episode 13) is a quiz, recommended by Ms. Linda Naiman founder at Creativity at Work & our former Design Partner. In the quiz we attempt to find similarities between an Artist and a Leader. Can a parallel be drawn between them about how they think or work?

We suggest, taking the quiz and reflect on the answers to build upon your leadership qualities.

Second exercise ( Episode 14 ) is created by us, ShwetSai Consultants - based on our reflections from the quiz. This exercise is aimed at improving the vocabulary of a leader (CEO in the example) so that he can communicate with creative people - design team. Based on the Right Brain Vs Left Brain dominance theory, we discuss an example to show that a holistic approach can lead to creative competence for a leader who otherwise was restricted to only logical analysis and reasoning.

One thing I know for sure is that to be creative is to be resilient and vice versa. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity and when you apply creativity to resilience, you will not only bounce back, you will emerge wiser, stronger and more resourceful. To be creatively resilient is to be comfortable with uncertainty. - Linda Naiman

Linda Naiman takes a step beyond being creative and talks about resilience in her course on 'Creative Resilience "
